Unearned awards on sheriff's
uniform?

MichÂiÂgan Caucus.
Ahhh, there's something about a uniform. No doubt about it.
Just look at Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard's
snappy brown uniform. Yeah, its got every

Last
year the Department of Environmental Quality
sought felony warrants from Attorney General Mike
Cox’ office against Graceland Fruit
for dumping thousands of gallons of blueberry waste
into a gravel pit in 2002. The resulting pollution killed
a previously vibrant trout stream in Honor,
Michigan.
After receiving complaints from the property owner
where the stream is located, the Department of
Environmental Quality opened an official
investigation in March of 2003, submitting
felony and misdemeanor warrant requests to the
AG’s office against Graceland and its waste
hauler some nine months later.![Graceland Graceland]()
But after spending some 20 months
“evaluating†the warrant request, or
aging it to perfection or whatÂever, Cox declined
to press charges refusing to explain the legal reasons,
leaving his spokeswoman to say that "it was a bad case;
it just didn't meet criminal muster to prosecute." Hell,
that took 20 months?

Originally published November 1, 2005, the Michigan Caucus
decided to republish this article in light of recent news
concerning Hoogendyk's, er,
unÂconÂvenÂtionÂal
campaign techniques. See the story
here. Looks like Jack's startin' to stand-out from the crowd
already!
The New
"Power Conservative" Look
The old-fashioned conservative look just does not work any more.
The receding hairline, the goofy grin, the
D‑A‑R‑K
suite, red tie, blue shirt and, oh yeah, the USA flag lapel pin
only say one thing: Boring. With a capital "B." What Representative
Jack (R-Kalamazoo) needs for his
gubÂerÂnaÂtorÂial
aspirations is a way to make himself instantly recognizable. So,
the fashion experts at the Michigan Caucus have laid out a whole
new look for Jack
speÂciÂfiÂcalÂly
designed to make him stand out from the crowd of billionaires
running for public office.

Press
Release
Patterson Looks to Reform Michigan
Elections
Pontiac, Michigan, (April 1, 2006) -- Oakland County Executive
L. Brooks Patterson will have a major announcement today concerning
a second ballot initiative.
Saying that Michigan trails the nation in election reform
momentum, Patterson proposes to revamp the way Michigan elects its
public officials by randomly selecting Michigan citizens to serve
in office.
“Let’s
face it; voters are just too fucking dumb to be trusted to elect
the right person for public office. Hell, look at how many
times they’ve elected me; you
couldn’t do worse if officials were picked by
damn chance. So, I am announcing a ballot initiative to replace our
antique electoral system where people actually vote for a
candidate, with a modern system where office holders would be
selected by a State Election Lottery.â€

Says
Water from Aquifer “Too
Oldâ€
(April 1, 2006) After fighting state regulators and community
activists for five years, Nestlé Waters announced
today that it is voluntarily
aÂbanÂdonÂing its bottling plant
and wells in Mesocta County where it processes Ice Mountain brand
water.
Nestlé Waters CEO Carlo Dasani said that further
tests on the aquifer revealed that the water was simply too old and
was well past its expiration date.

(April 1,
2006) After nearly six months of digging through our
poÂliÂtiÂcal Rolodex, the Michigan
Caucus has finally been able find a picture of Cox' paramour. It
wasn't easy - alot of people didn't want to talk and when they did
talk it would never be in Oakland County and never on the phone. Go
figure. After the jump, the photo ...
