Michigan's Worst 25 - Update!

Trash2Several news items have caused the editorial staff here at the Michigan Caucus to re-think some of the entries on Michigan's Worst 25 list. So, from the bottom's up:

New at Number 25, Adolf "I'm in Business" Mongo. A political consultant's equivalent to nuclear waste; good to have when you need it, good to smear your opponents with it when you have to, but it really sucks when you get it on your own hands.

New at Number 24, The Detroit News is a long overdue entry to the Michigan's Worst 25 list. Calling itself "conservative," the paper's editorial staff can barely restrain its fervor to move the clock back to the Dark Ages. Still fighting lost battles from the 30's, 40's and 50's, it recently called attention to itself when it opined that assistant prosecutors should not be in a union. Not only did they misunderstand the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals case they cited, but they also proved that Shakespeare's dispatch of lawyers should have been reserved for anonymous editorial writers. We only wish the Detroit Free Press could provide as much venom in favor of the Left.

Moving up four notches from Number 22 to Number 18 is freshman Macomb County Prosecutor Eric Smith on news of his proposal to institute a loyalty clause in the labor contract with his assistant prosecutors. Says its necessary to keep things running smoothly, keep everyone rowing in the same direction, keep focus on prosecution, not politics and eliminate any competition from my subordinates when I turn-out to be a dick. Only The Detroit News seems to favor the idea, but then mostly because they hate unions.
