The Ambassador of Dirty Words

SecchiaPeter Secchia, a founding member of the Reagan/Bush conservative movement, now comes to the defense of his pal Saul Anuzis.

Secchia, long famous for his "potty mouth" and indelicate choice of words - he was once quoted by Harper's Magazine(1) as needing a "big titted women" for a 50's nostalgia dance at a Republican conference on Mackinac Island and raised eyebrows when, as ambassador, he expressed his love for the Italy's '"belle ragazze," its beautiful girls. The Italian Press nicknamed him the "Ambassador of Dirty Words" even before he arrived in that country.

In a 27-page email, Secchia blasts local party officials who criticize Anuzis for the GOP's poor performance and for their "misplaced" disgust over the racist attack ads put out by the Michigan Republican Party. He even manages to say that he himself is not a racist, afterall, he has a few "minority" friends. No joke.

But, Secchia's bottom line: I raise money, you don't, fuck you.

Cox' Sucker Punch for Saul

Cox1

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 16, 2006

Dear Republican Friend,

Like you, I have spent most of the past week or so thinking about the 2006 elections.  At the national level, we clearly took a beating (Yes, you did). People's perceptions (Perceptions?) about the progress of the war in Iraq, concerns about federal spending, the Foley and Abramoff scandals all took a toll (Because the Republicans were exposed for how easily they can be bought).  These justifiable concerns spilled over into Michigan and were further fueled by voters' worries about the Michigan economy (Hey, that was supposed to be your issue, remember?) and a billionaire's unprecedented spending campaign against the Republicans in the State Senate and State House (But somehow its "OK" when your billionaire pal disses the governor and tries to buy the seat, but not "OK" when another billionaire takes you to the tool shed. Hypocrite asshole).  Despite all our efforts, in the end, Governor Granholm and Senator Stabenow kept their seats and the State House switched from Republican to Democrat(ic) control.

One Last Thing to Do...

Well, this election season's fun-and-games are almost over. But we're also looking forward to next year's "öff-year" elections and the growing campaigns to replace the Bush. We trust that next year will bring as many hypocrites and assholes as this year and plenty of material to lampoon.

But, there is still one last thing to do: vote.

WAIT! Don't go! We're skipping all the usual pleas that everyone tosses around this time of year (civic duty, making a difference, toss the assholes out and ad nauseum...) because we don't believe that any of them really work or are really truthful.

Michigan's Worst 25 Update

Brusepatterson_1State Senator Bruce "I am the Walrus" Patterson (Punk Boy-Canton) is the Michigan Caucus' newest addition to the Michigan's Worst 25 List coming in at Number 22, replacing former Detroit City Clerk Jackie Currie. Patterson gets his first listing for his temper and all-around rudeness to all things not liked by Patterson.

Anuziswins_1Also, jumping from Number 22 to Number 10 is Michigan Republican Party Chairman Saul Anuzis. Saul jumps 12 spots, just below anti-gay activist Gary Glenn, for authorizing race-baiting attacks on two African American candidates. The only thing worse is that this crap apparently still works.
